It’s no accident that we’re wired to cherish memories of places in which we’ve lived, played, celebrated, or worked. In many respects, those emotions are what make all of us human and bind us across cultures and geography. The enjoyment and memories that endure from these experiences result from the experience of true hospitality. As we live in communities or travel to visit places we enjoy, the apartments, condos, hotels, and resorts serve as our anchor, translators for what is offered, and act as a stage for memories that will encourage us to deeply connect with that place.
We are, first and foremost, hospitality designers, in its most general sense. Whether the project is a hotel, an apartment building, condominium, resort, senior living, or a food hall, we apply what we have learned from decades of hospitality design and that means designing to enable operations that reduce friction in the delivery of the amenities and features of that special place.
H4D’s design approach, as led by Mendy Winkler, Fidel Ortega, Barbara Silverman, and Stephen Perkins, is centered in creating a deeper connection between the resident or guest and the place as embodied in the residence, hotel, or resort. We are confident that these connections create more powerful memories and bonds between the resident, guest, and property, and that those bonds have value.
For projects small and large, modern, traditional, modest, and luxurious, we have enjoyed long standing professional relationships by understanding how to create memorable places and deep connections with residents, guests, and visitors.
